Demand can be slightly different from location to location and from city to city, but the app allows you to filter by city and region. If you want to, you can extend your search from just the city of Leeds to the entire surrounding region.

This depends a lot on the documentation you can provide and how quickly, but everything from a few days up to a month. We completely understand that every situation is different. If you have any concerns or questions about passing your background and right-to-work checks, you can get in touch with our team.

Orka Works has a wide variety of jobs available throughout the app. The most common roles are Security Officer, Door Supervisor, Event Steward, Relief Officer, Mobile Response, Dog Handling, Close Protection, Relief Officer and many more.

Once you’ve been verified and gone through the security checks, you can navigate to the Find Work page in the app. If you are located in Leeds, the app will automatically show you jobs in the area. You can also change your location by clicking on it in the app and even choose how many miles from your current location you want to extend your search.

You can download the app on Google Play Store or the App Store. It’s free to download and check out. If you decide to sign up with Orka Works, we will require a range of documents to check that you have an SIA licence, the right to work in the UK, your address history and your work history or activity for the last five years. Once we have verified you through the app, you can start applying for jobs.

Orka Works has a payment system called Instant Pay within the app. This will transfer your salary into your account on the first Wednesday of every month. Instant Pay also allows you to withdraw up to 50% of your salary right after working a shift, should you want to.

Orka Works has teamed up with some of the biggest names in security, such as G4S, Wilson James and ICC. We have clients of several sizes and with different specialities. You will have the opportunity to work for these companies, but still choose the shifts and hours you want. This will also depend heavily on the companies that operate in your area.

Yes. All our Security roles require a valid SIA licence.

If you like the look of the job, click on View Shifts, select the shifts you want to work and click next. The final part is to view and accept the contract. Once you have accepted the contract, your application will be pending. This means the employer is reviewing your application and will respond as soon as possible.

If your application has been successful, you will get a notification and an email with all the information you need to work the shift.

Orka is committed to making work ethical and fair for our workers. With us, you are entitled to Holiday Pay and time off when you need it and all the rights of a regular PAYE worker. This means you will always get written terms (a contract) outlining your job rights and responsibilities, National Minimum Wage or above, paid holiday, payslips and protection from being treated unfairly if you work part-time.
